SBIR and STTR Grant Programs
The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) Office of Technology offers funding assistance to qualified applicants through two competitive programs - the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Program and the Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) Program. Eleven federal agencies participate in the SBIR program; five participate in the STTR program, awarding $2billion annually to small high-tech businesses that are performing innovative research and development activities deemed important to well-being of the American public. The U.S National Science Foundation administers a comprehensive website [ www.sbir.gov ], with details on the participating agencies, research areas of emphasis, current solicitations, past awards, how to apply, and more.
Staff and associates of Lakeshore Advantage’s BioBusiness Accelerator have significant experience in devising, drafting, and submitting government grant proposals, and first-hand experience in the administration and conduct of SBIR grants that have been awarded. For further information, please Contact our offices.
Accelerator staff can also refer interested parties to several other valuable resources that can assist entrepreneurs in considering SBIR/STTR grants as part of their business development strategies.
